Wedding quilt

I saw a quilt on Ahhhquilting.blogspot.com and thought it was great idea to make my son a wedding quilt like it.  There isn't a pattern for it, but pretty easy to figure out just by looking at it.  The fabric I used is Moda Simply Style by Vanessa Christensen. The long arm quilting was done by quiltingismybliss.blogspot.com and I think the pattern is called "crop circles".  Love it! Enjoy the pics and if you want any measurements of the block, here they are:

White center of "coin slot" - 8 1/2" X 4 1/2"
Print sides - 8 1/2" X 2 1/2"
White block between coin block - 8 1/2" X 8 1/2"
White Sashing strips - 4 1/2" X length of quilt

Folk Tale

So it has been 8 months since I last blogged.... I have a thing for Instagram lately because I am not a writer.  Its so easy to post pics of quilts and not feel like you have to do much explaining about it :)
However, I do love this latest baby quilt I made for Callie Rasmussen...

I just love this fabric and unfortunately, it is an OOP (out of production) fabric line by Lecien.  If you can find it in your LQS, lucky you! It is called Folk Tale by Natalie Lymer. The size is 64"x64", strips of print fabric are 5" X length of fabric. White borders are 1 1/2 inch strips, side blocks are 5"x5" squares. I machine quilted a cross hatch pattern, 1 1/2 or 2 inches apart (can't remember, hahaha).  The link to the original pattern is here A Little Folk Tale
I took a short cut for the side squares with sashing - cut sashing 1 1/2 X WOF, cut print 5" X WOF and sew these 2 strips together. With wrong sides together (before ironing), cut at 5" intervals. Then iron.. This will give you 8 squares with sashing out of one print.

Feel free to email me with any questions and thanks for stopping by!
